Affordable Cataract surgery

Cataracts affect over 70% of the population especially and unsurprisingly those in the over age 70 category.

We here at Europa-International est.1996 (based in Luton) have a mission to help as many people as possible suffering from this condition. speedily and more affordable than in the U.K.

Who are Europa-International?  We are the trusted and longest-serving UK-based European medical service established in 1996. During that time have assisted in excess of 30,000 patients who entrusted them to take them to Prague, for either cosmetic surgery or cosmetic dentistry procedure.  Hardly believable but never once out of a total of more than 30,000 patients was there so much as one single complication.  https://europa-international.net/Widely acclaimed and appeared on both BBC and Anglia TV as well as most national and international print media.

Since 2016 although retired they maintained many of their medical connections in the Czech Republic and decided to return to the fray.

Why have they taken it upon themselves to come out of retirement and spread their wings into this territory?

Firstly being entrepreneurs for most of their lives, they spotted a niche in the market. Secondly: shocked to discover many seniors in the UK were being rationed for this crucial procedure. Waits of up to 2 years! You could go blind by then. Moreover along- the the-way, left untreated cataracts due to impaired vision, can easily cause a person to injure themselves. What are the symptoms of cataracts? Essentially the problem emanates from patients experiencing cloudy vision symptoms. What was once a naturally clear ocular lens indicates some cloudiness. Moreover along- the the-way left untreated, cataracts can easily cause a person to injure themselves, due to their impaired vision.

Cataracts indicate diminished transparency and cloudiness in what was previously a transparent ocular lens. Thus casting a shadow and preventing light rays from reaching the retina. Often the condition begins with only a mild degree of cataract, just mildly affecting your vision. Conversely, in more acute and advanced stages you will experience cloudy vision which seems ultra-sensitive to light and increased sensitivity to light, and far sight is distorted. How rapidly the extent of the cloudiness in the ocular lens varies individually. But for sure it isn’t going to get better. Without being melodramatic here you could find in some cases a complete loss of sight. This may take months, years, or even decades but it can be the outcome.

ataract Symptoms include fading of colours, and blurred and double vision known as diplopia.

There are often seen as vague ‘ halos’ around the light. Also, difficulties coping with bright lights, and naturally impaired vision.

Classic Cataracts Case-With Opaque & Cloudy Vision

Cataract Conditions produce a clouding over the eye lens

This, of course drastically affects vision. To begin, manifestations are quite slow in either one or both eyes. Thus affects reading, driving a car, and recognising people and objects.

Not to mention the risks of injury when being unable to see what you are doing clearly. Basically a big loss of independence.

The type Of Cataract procedure offered depends greatly on the age of the patient as follows:

45 – 65 years of age: intraocular refractive surgery (RLE/CLE with a monofocal implant – to correct hyperopia or myopia and astigmatism, or PRELEX with a trifocal implant – to correct hyperopia or myopia and presbyopia and astigmatism)

65 years and older: cataract surgery (with monofocal, bifocal of trifocal implant).

Methods RLE/CLE, PRELEX and cataract surgery – it is the same procedure = lens exchange, using either phaco-emulsification (with ultrasonic vibration to emulsify the lens), or femtosecond laser (with laser ray to fragment the lens). We do both.

As for the intraocular lenses – we only use Alcon and Zeiss products:

We do not use phakic lenses anymore.

For younger patients with limited vision

There is laser vision correction. We have two lasers: femtosecond VisuMax and excimer MEL 80. We offer PRK, femto-LASIK and ReLEx Smile procedures.
