Many of our clients come to us with an inaccurate perception of what a facelift actually is; what it involves, and how effective it really is.

Instead, many come to us determined that they do not want a full facelift and instead want to opt for a little tweaking ‘here and there’ to transform the mid face.

See, there is a stigma in our society surrounding the facelift, and people fear that they will be seen as self obsessed and extreme if they start re-modelling their faces. It makes many feel more comfortable to opt for the mid facelift, as this seems much less severe, less painful and less obvious.

However, having a mid facelift is basically the same procedure as the full facelift in terms of the procedure itself. In both operations the surgeon makes incisions either behind or at the front of the ears.

The only difference is that after the healing process has taken its course, the mid facelift leaves the person with a younger looking face, but a neck that would appear to be 10 years older.

If you opt for the facelift, after the surgery your face and neck will appear around 10 years younger (on average). This will make you feel beautiful again and as the neck and face will be even there will be nothing that looks strange or uneven. Opt for the mid facelift, however, and the results will be quite the opposite.

Many who go for this procedure come out feeling that their face looks much younger, but the reverse effect is evident; the neck of the client is left 10 years behind and is scarily obvious to see. The mid facelift emphasises the fact that you have had cosmetic surgery as well as heightens new insecurities regarding your neck area.

As we all know, many Hollywood stars opt for a facelift, as they want to feel young again and wish to be taken back to their prime time. However we notice often they appear to have opted for the mid facelift and left the neck.

Many also have the perception that company’s such as ours push for a full facelift  as we are out to get as much money as possible from our clients. This is simply not the case. Here at ‘Europa’ we pride ourselves in achieving the best possible results that will guarantee you look and feel a million dollars.

In actual fact, you will be saving money in the long run by going for the full facelift, as if and when at a later stage you decide you are unhappy with your neck and want to even things out this will make  the overall cost much more. Additionally, not only will you be paying more for 2 operations all  but you will once more have to endure another operation, a further general anaesthetic a further number of hours under the knife and another recovery period. This can all be avoided if you have the job done well the first time around.
