Eye Bag Surgery Procedure

During eye bag surgery (blepharoplasty)the plastic surgeon removes excess skin and fat bags from around the eyes.Surgery of the lower eye and upper eyelids is undertaken at the same time. The effect of surgery on the lower eye bags is permanent whereas the upper eyelids lasts between 7 to 10 years before the procedure needs repeating.

Upper and or lower eyelid surgery can be performed either under local or general anaesthetic. The advantage of local anaesthesia is that you are released immediately after the procedure and accompanied home.If you opt for general anaesthesia you will be required to stay overnight in hospital for observation as a precautionary measure although surgery is more comfortable.

Why Lucy Opted for Upper Eyelid and Lower Eye bag  Surgery in Prague

Lucy has long felt uncomfortable pressure in her eyes. They would often be teary and tired constantly. For her an eyelid operation was not a decision based on an aesthetic standpoint alone, but for the future health of her sight. After the operation she recovered full functionality and at a far lower cost than expensive eyelid creams would cost her over many years.

The operation was undertaken using general anesthetic and took a little less than two hours. The upper eye was operated on using traditional methods, but the lower eye where the majority of the excess skin is removed was operated on using the latest advancements in eye laser technology and does not scar. The correction involves resection of muscle that heals scars and stiffens the muscle.
